JOSEPH DENTAL COLLEGE LIBRARY was started in the year 2002 with the aim to help the students and faculty to reach their potential by providing multifaceted, supportive learning and teaching environment. Education programmes are growing to meet the demand for additional health professional and requirements for entry to practice. The library is responding to these changes by focusing on web based resource and services. The library is the most important spot in any educational institution.

Timings

The library hours begin with at 8.00 am and continue up to 11 pm  and during the exams it will kept open midnight hours, so that the students can utilize the facilities and prepare for their studies, exams, seminars and thesis. On Sundays and public holidays the library functions from 9.00 am to 8.00 pm. 

It is an ideal place for widening one’s intellectual horizon. It is fully equipped to satisfy the needs of faculty and students in pursuing and attaining utmost academic excellence. The Library is located in a peaceful environment with good collection of textbooks and National & International Journals, National and International Journals, and bound back volumes available on the shelves. Good efforts are made to endorse standard books from well-known and well-informed authors for all subjects included in the curriculum are well separated for easy access. The services of the libraries have been expanding as they contribute significantly to the learning process, particularly the e-learning process.

Departmental Library

The departments have departmental libraries from where students can refereed the books under the supervision of the faculty members of the department. This helps students to develop the habit of consulting reference books. Books are issued on regular basis to the faculty and the PG students and to maintain a proper record an Issue Register is maintained under direct supervision of the H.O.D.

24 Hours Reading Room Facility

The college is providing 24 hours reading room facility to the students. This facility is available round the clock in 365 days. This is the only Dental College Library has this facility in Andhra Pradesh.

Area

The college library encompasses a space of 9010 sft. It is spacious and well planned with a seating arrangement of 350. There are well-spaced discussion tables as well.

Membership

Library I.D. Card or borrower cards will be issued on receipt of admission list and production of I.D. Card issued authentically by the concerned college. Every student is provided with a set of Two Cards for borrowing books. The books borrowed should be returned within 15 days failing which a fine is imposed
